Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Academic Degrees Committee issued the "Notice on Adjusting the Institutions Authorized to Grant Doctoral and Master's Degrees", which approved newly added universities, including Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), as Project Construction Units for Granting Master's Degree. GTIIT, the youngest among them, has reached another significant milestone in its development.

Inclusion in the list is not only a recognition of GTIIT's educational performance but also an important task assigned to the university to further enhance its academic level and strength. This approval has embarked GTIIT on a new journey of high-quality educational development, injecting strong momentum into the construction of a high-level, international research university dedicated to science and engineering.

The Notice indicates that the additional institutions authorized to grant doctoral and master's degrees were selected based on the basic conditions listed in a document issued by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, taking into consideration factors such as the discipline construction team, scientific research capabilities and contributions, as well as the effectiveness and highlights of research platform establishment. After obtaining authorization, the relevant universities will be automatically removed from the list.

Since its establishment, GTIIT has closely integrated the demand of socio-economic development of Guangdong Province with the educational resources of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Focusing on environment, energy, and human health, GTIIT has initially formed a a teaching and research framework that emphasizes a solid foundation, interdisciplinary integration, and practical application. It aims to cultivate engineers and scientists with innovative capabilities, a global perspective, and humanistic qualities.

Taking this as a new starting point, GTIIT will seize the opportunity to optimize its interdisciplinary layout, innovate talent cultivation modes, strengthen faculty team and research platforms, continuously improve its educational quality and core competitiveness, driving the university's continued success.
