previous events
Over the past three years, GTIIT has achieved an average annual doubling of patent applications, with international patents accounting for 10.3% of the total. Additionally, 15 students received funding from the Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Patent Fund of Shantou Intellectual Property Association for patents they were involved in. In 2024, a patent titled "An in vitro degradation testing device for vascular stents," led by student Shen Zhengyu, came out. This is the first GTIIT patent led by undergraduate students. Dr. Limei Cha, Director of the Electron Microscopy Center and the guiding teacher, stated that "the student simulated the corrosive degradation environment inside the blood vessels of the body using biodegradable vascular stents. The designed testing equipment can provide more accurate information than traditional solutions, thus better understanding absorbable metal implants. It’s very innovative.”
