On March 12, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) held the Launching Ceremony of Corporate Donations to GTIIT on the South Campus. Several enterprises from Guangdong Province generously contributed to support the development of GTIIT, which represents a significant move by the businesses to fulfill their social responsibilities and bolster the advancement of educational endeavors.

The ceremony was attended by Wang Yongqing, Second-level Inspector of Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce; Li Zhao, Vice Mayor of Shantou Municipal People's Government; Prof. David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT；Prof. Moris Eisen, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT；Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT；Dr. Queen Yi, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; and representatives from various departments of GTIIT.

Wang Yongqing highlighted in his address that the corporate donations present a vital opportunity and driving force for GTIIT's development. He hoped GTIIT would continue to uphold and foster a spirit of innovation, enhance the quality of education and research, and cultivate more outstanding talents with innovative mindsets and practical abilities.

Li Zhao remarked that GTIIT's proactive exploration in technological innovation and the integration of industry, academia, and research aligns closely with Shantou's development goals of establishing a strong industrial and economic base. He noted that the corporate donations not only affirm GTIIT's achievements in education but also provide robust support for the city's educational development.

Prof. David Gershoni expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of GTIIT for the generous donations, quoting the Chinese proverb, "It takes ten years to grow a tree and a hundred years to cultivate talents," to emphasize a long-term and challenging endeavor required for education and the need for collective efforts of the entire society. He hoped more enterprises would join in the mission of donating, sowing the seeds that will hopefully grow into the mighty, inspiring forests of the future.

Prof. Lin Danming briefly outlined GTIIT's development history and educational achievements, extending sincere thanks to the contributing enterprises. He said GTIIT would live up to the high expectations by continuing to nurture high-level scientific and innovative talents, and looked forward to deepening exchanges with enterprises in various fields to explore new pathways for industry-university-research cooperation.

During the ceremony, representatives from eight donating enterprises presented checks to GTIIT, and Dr. Queena Yi, President of GTIIT Education Foundation and Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, presented letters of thanks and donation medals to the donors.

As a representative of the donating enterprises, Mr. Guo Mingyuan, Chairman of Mingsheng Holding Group, stated that GTIIT's remarkable achievements in scientific innovation, talent cultivation, and the integration of education with industry resonate with the group's philosophy of "empowering industry with technology." He anticipated broadening the collaboration between both sides and providing more practical opportunities for students.

Mr. Lai Zhiguang, President of Guangdong Dongsheng Holding Group, highlighted that GTIIT's research achievements span multiple cutting-edge disciplines, combining academic innovation with practical transformation value. He hoped for further industry-university-research cooperation to spark "wonderful synergies."

Following the ceremony, GTIIT leaders accompanied the guests to plant new trees in celebration of Arbor Day. Representatives from various enterprises wished GTIIT prosperous development and flourishing talent cultivation in the future.

Corporate representatives also visited the North Campus Research Building and engaged in discussions with GTIIT professors on topics such as the industrialization of academic achievements and corporate innovation development.

With the support and care of enterprises and individuals from all sectors of society, GTIIT has made steady progress in recent years. Moving forward, GTIIT will continue to uphold its mission of cultivating talents for the country, contributing to the high-quality development of education with tangible achievements.
