On March 26, a delegation from Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) visited National Innovation Center par Excellence (NICE). The two parties had in-depth discussion on the topics of concept verification for early-stage innovation projects, technology transfer and advanced educational philosophies.

Prof. Liu Qing, President of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute and Director of NICE; Prof. Shi Gongqi, Management Committee member of NICE, Prof. Moris S. Eisen, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of GTIIT; Yigal Cohen, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT; Dr. Queena Yi, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Prof. Eli Aljadeff, Head of GTIIT Mathematics and Computer Science program and Michael Lv, Director of GTEC, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Prof. Liu Qing warmly welcomed GTIIT members. He detailed the innovation system and ecological progress of NICE. He pointed out that NICE, as a core platform for regional innovation, highly matches with GTIIT’s international innovation philosophy. The center is now focusing on the integration of education, science and technology, and talents. He proposed collaborating with GTIIT to establish concept verification centers and innovative education models, leveraging their respective strengths to provide high-level technology and speed up the commercialization of cutting-edge scientific achievements, which will support the high-quality development of regional industrial system in technology innovation.

Prof. Moris S. Eisen introduced the history, teaching philosophy and research strengths of GTIIT. As a science and technology research university, GTIIT upholds the excellence of the Technion. It focuses on training high-quality talents with innovative thinking and an international outlook, while actively targets social development and social issues. While committed to fundamental research, it also actively promotes the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into practical productivity. He expressed his wishes for deepening cooperation with NICE and welcomed NICE experts to visit GTIIT.

Prof. Eli Aljadeff introduced GTIIT’s development and Israel’s innovation resources. He said GTIIT always prioritizes talent cultivation and uses education as the link among technology, talent and innovation. NICE partners with top universities and renowned innovation organizations. It links innovation resources globally and collaborates on the alignment of innovation demand and industrial talent cultivation, pioneering a meaningful education model. He looks forward to both sides establishing a long-term cooperation in advanced technologies and the training of high-level talents.

The GTIIT delegation also visited NICE's exhibition hall. They gained insights into the center’s background, goals, and innovative practices. Both parties engaged in further discussions on future cooperation.
