Recently, Eran Gal-Or, the Israeli director of GTIIT Campus Operations & Logistics, shared with his Chinese colleagues his thoughts on "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" which he read in his spare time.
Eran Gal-Or joined GTIIT two years ago. With an academic background on Politics and International Development, Eran explained that learning about other countries' political theories was the most efficient way to involve himself with the local communities. When he happened to see his Chinese colleagues absorbedly reading "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China", he was so curious that he asked his colleagues for the English version of the book.

"The book not only mentioned the achievements in the past, but also problems remaining to be solved in the future and a clear internationalized vision of innovative development and rule of law, etc." Eran said. After reading a few chapters, Eran, who has been living in many countries, had to admit that his knowledge on China was limited.
"What impressed me is some key phrases." Eran remarked. For example, "governing a big country is as delicate as frying a small fish," "together fulfill the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation," "uphold and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics" ……these "new" phrases open a window for him to know more about China. According to Eran, the most inspiring one is "Two Centenary Goals". "Instead of slacking off, China spares no efforts and head on to build a fair, harmony and happy society, even though remarkable achievements have been attained." Eran believed that the "Two Centenary Goals" is a Chinese dream belonging to every Chinese and it is also the reason he has great expectation on China.

In fact, Eran himself has witnessed the dramatic progress made in Shantou and GTIIT in the past two years. His families moved from the U.K. to Shantou in the beginning of this year. His two children are enrolled in local kindergarten and make a lot of Chinese friends," I hope they can learn some Chinese."
"When I finish reading the book, I would like to have an in-depth discussion on the book with my colleagues again." said Eran.
