Recently, Olivier NGO, Attaché for Scientific and Higher Education Cooperation of the French Consulate General in Guangzhou, led a delegation on a visit to Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT). Prof. Eli Aljadeff, Acting Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Prof. Moris S. Eisen and Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Yigal Cohen, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT, along with staff representatives from various departments including Student Affairs, GTEC, RIGS, Undergraduate Studies, Career and Learning Center and University's Office, attended the meeting.
Prof. Eli Aljadeff, Acting Vice Chancellor of GTIIT welcomed the delegation and introduced GTIIT's development history, academic programs, faculty team, etc. He emphasized that as the China campus of Technion - Israel Institute of Technology with a century-old history, GTIIT inherits its outstanding academic traditions. "Our international faculty come from over 30 countries and regions, with all courses taught in English. Students can access Technion's global exchange network, with opportunities to study at nearly 100 partner institutions worldwide," he noted. He added that over 80% of GTIIT graduates pursue further studies, with many choosing to continue their master's degrees in France. Currently, GTIIT's partner institutions span over 20 countries and regions, including prestigious French universities like Ecole Polytechnique Paris and PSL University.
During the meeting, Olivier NGO, Attaché for Scientific and Higher Education Cooperation of the French Consulate General in Guangzhou, presented an overview of the functions of the Cultural Office of the French Consulate General in Guangzhou and Campus France Canton, French Embassy's research funding programs in China, as well as cultural activities organized by the Consulate. He expressed hopes to further enhance cooperation and exchanges with GTIIT in education, science and technology, culture and other fields.
During discussions, both sides explored future collaboration in talent cultivation and research projects. The meeting enhanced mutual understanding and laid solid groundwork for deeper cooperation between GTIIT and leading French academic and research institutions.
