Dear Cohort 2025 of GTIIT, welcome to join the vibrant hub of science and technology! At GTIIT campus, you'll find not only rigorous academics and exciting campus events, but also your Peer Mentors (PMs) who will guide you through the best ways to navigate university life.
GTIIT Peer Mentor Program Introduction
Since 2018, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) has implemented the Peer Mentor Program, which actively responds to various needs of the freshmen in the admission stage through the experience and resources of outstanding senior students. Since the implementation of the program, PMs have become a bridge between the university and freshmen, helping the freshmen to get through the adaptation period as soon as possible and integrate into college life smoothly, as well as gaining great recognition and support from them. At the same time, the program helps in cultivating our students into holistic individuals with a strong sense of values. It greatly facilitates PMs' comprehensive abilities and extracurricular experience.

The Peer Mentor Program provides students with appropriate non-formal educational experiences to help them integrate into the campus, realize their potential and grow in a balanced manner. It proactively responds to the needs of freshmen and supports them through the adjustment period, with the university and PMs working together. The Department of Student Affairs also collaborates with other departments of the university, as well as external resources and networks, to assist students in their pursuit of all-round development.

Functions

Honorary Peer Mentor Program
The Honorary Peer Mentor Program was launched for the first time this year, aiming to build a step-by-step nurturing system by relying on excellent senior peer mentors. a "mentoring and guidance" approach where experienced mentors support newcomers, the Honorary Peer Mentors can help new peer mentors quickly understand and learn the specific tasks, while also providing real-time follow-up and guidance on their progress, so as to achieve intergenerational inheritance of peer mentor experience and synergistic development.

Remember the moments from past Orientation Weeks?
PMs transformed into "GTIIT tour guides",
leading freshmen across campus and
organizing creative ice-breaking activities—
melting away first-day jitters and helping everyone
feel at home in the GTIIT family.
More surprises are loading this year!

moments of the freshmen ice-breaking activities
Peer Mentors consist of experienced and supportive senior students who deeply understand the challenges you may face as newcomers—whether adapting to an English-taught environment and new teaching methods, making friends in an unfamiliar setting, or balancing academics and campus life. Driven by enthusiasm and firsthand experience, Peer Mentors are ready to serve as your solid support during your initial transition into GTIIT.
During the preparatory semester, Peer Mentors will organize various activities to help you quickly adapt to university life and studies. Key activities include: Ice-breaking sessions to build connections, information-sharing workshops on campus resources, dormitory visits for personalized guidance, experience-sharing panels with practical insights, emotional support channels for well-being, etc.
