PostTime:10/14/2025

On October 5, the 2025 military training of Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) came to a successfully conclusion. This year’s training was the largest in GTIIT history: 1328 students across three grades completed the 14-day training-a powerful testament to the dedication and dynamism of today’s youth.

Let’s review this wonderful military training via a vast collection of photos.

Military training parade and award ceremony

A sudden rain arrived as the military parade officially began. Twenty-three company formations passed the reviewing stand in perfect steps, shouting loud slogans. Rain soaked their uniforms, but it only deepened the students’ respect for the soldiers’ resilience.

Reflections on military training

Sha Xincheng

Camouflage uniforms, soaked with sweat, are dried by the scorching sun; slogans shatter the silence of dawn and linger over the playground at dusk. The 14-day military training, like a hammer tempered by fire, taps gently on the title page of youth, leaving a clear mark.

When standing at attention, we stare at the tree shadows ahead for seconds; our postures freeze at the command "one order, one movement"; during breaks, we share half a bottle of cold water with classmates or grow familiar with each other through casual chats. These trivial moments reveal the true essence of military training more than the drills of the national flag team. Even with arms stiff with soreness and feet blistered from rubbing, no one gives up easily.

Until the day of the closing ceremony, as I watched the neat formation march across the playground, I suddenly understood military training is never about perfect movements. It teaches us to bear fatigue through perseverance and learn to take responsibility in the collective. This tenacity hidden in sweat will last longer than any glory, lighting up the road ahead.

Liu Dongchang

GTIIT's military training was like that cup of coffee in the afternoon library: bitter at first sip, yet it leaves a lingering, mellow aftertaste. Among the experiences, the one I savor most is the "live-fire drill."

In this session, my biggest takeaway was this: firing a real gun is nothing like playing a shooting. Hitting a target at 100 meters is far harder than I ever imagined. When I shared my experience with our company's instructor, I learned that what felt challenging to us—hitting a target at 100 meters—had long been turned into an art form by them. Whether prone, kneeling, firing on the move, or even shooting one-handed, they could consistently hit the bullseye!

When I asked them about their marksmanship secrets, I came to understand the essence of the saying: "Practice makes perfect!" For the instructors, live-fire shooting has become a monotonous routine. Yet, it is precisely by enduring this monotony, committing to deliberate practice, and undergoing relentless refinement that they achieve such mastery. This dedication and discipline offer deep inspiration for my future studies and experimental research.

In the subsequent training sessions, I put this insight into practice during our drill formations. Formations, facing movements, marching in step and goose-stepping... These maneuvers, seemingly simple, each held its own intricacies. During the day, I practiced diligently, strictly adhering to the key points instructed by the drill sergeants; in the evenings, I repeatedly recalled the mnemonic chants they used to explain the techniques. By the end of the week, I could clearly perceive my own improvement and was equally amazed at how our entire company's formations grew precise and uniform. I believe my "comrades-in-arms" shared this sentiment, and together we resolved not only to apply this perseverance throughout the military training but also to live by it in our future studies and daily lives.
