About  GTIIT

As the only sino-foreign joint university focusing on science and technology, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) is acting as the China Campus of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (Technion). It is located in the city of Shantou, Guangdong province. The Technion is the oldest academic institute in Israel and a leading national and international research university. The Technion faculty and alumni are internationally known for their achievements including 4 scientists who are Nobel prize laurates.

Starting from 2022, GTIIT and Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) established a master student joint training program and, so far, more than 50 students have been enrolled. The 1st cohort of students have graduated in July 2025. In 2026, the GTIIT-SUSTech joint training program is expected to recruit 10 master students through general examination (The final quota is subject to the official enrollment plan issued by Guangdong Education Department.)

2. Enrolment Number and Program

Note: The actual enrollment plan is subject to the final quota issued by the higher authorities. For specific arrangements of the examination, please refer to the detailed rules for examination and admission of the relevant SUSTech departments.

3. Features of joint training program 

Dual supervisor: A dual-supervisor system is adopted for the jointly trained graduate students, with one advisor from SUSTech and one advisor from GTIIT, guiding the students' study and research work. Cultivation method: The jointly trained graduate students are enrolled in the SUSTech graduate program. The students will be trained at SUSTech in the first semester and at GTIIT in the subsequent semesters. The first semester will be devoted to course studies while the subsequent semesters to research practices. The topic of the graduate student’s research project will be mutually agreed upon by both co-advisors and the research will be conducted under the close supervision of the GTIIT advisor in the campus of GTIIT. The regulations of student status management, cultivation requirements and degree conferment are carried out according to the requirements of SUSTech and GTIIT. Those who meet the graduation conditions and degree conferment conditions of SUSTech and GTIIT will be awarded the academic degree certificate of SUSTech. 

Student management: Students are managed by SUSTech while they are at SUSTech, the ideological education, study and research, daily management, scholarship and accommodation of graduate students shall be managed by GTIIT during their training at GTIIT.

Tuition fee and scholarship: SUSTech will be responsible for providing national scholarship and academic scholarships to graduate students, and students will pay tuition fees to SUSTech according to the policy pertaining to Master students in SUSTech. GTIIT, in accordance with GTIIT's standards, will provide the joint training students with scholarship allowances, the amount of which shall not be lower than SUSTech's standard for equivalent students.
