Blood donation and health consultation events on campus

PostTime:10/29/2025

The GTIIT campus buzzed with warmth recently. Blood donation vehicles drove in while health consultation booths drew long queues. Faculty and students translated social responsibility into action, leveraging expertise to build a healthier community.

Blood Donation: A Lifesaving Relay

Guided by volunteers and Shantou Central Blood Station medics, the donation drive proceeded seamlessly: registration, health screenings, and consultations. "Relax, it won’t take long," reassured staff to first-time donors, carefully explaining post-donation care.

Since China’s Blood Donation Law took effect in 1998, our country’s voluntary blood donation system has achieved remarkable progress. Yet, growing clinical demand continues to strain blood supply.

The event united GTIIT members across disciplines and cultures. On the mobile vehicles, sleeves were rolled up for blood contributions to clinical reserves. As the final bag was labeled, a cross-border act of kindness concluded.

According to statistics, over 8,000ml of blood was collected—all for clinical use.

Health Clinic: Wellness in Action

A gentle breeze swept through as the campus turned into a "health fueling station," where the university clinic partnered with seasoned specialists across dentistry, ophthalmology, TCM nutrition, and physiotherapy to offer one-on-one consultations and personalized medical advice for GTIIT members.

To address common occupational ailments among faculty and students, the event featured specialized services including cervical spine adjustments, vision protection, and aromatherapy, precisely targeting issues like prolonged sitting, eye strain, and stress management.

Long queues formed at multiple free consultation booths, with the TCM diagnosis area being particularly popular. For concerns like insomnia and poor appetite, TCM practitioners conducted on-site pulse readings, identified constitutional types, and provided detailed nutritional advice to help participants regulate suboptimal health conditions.

The practical and heartwarming free clinic services attracted enthusiastic participation from nearly 100 faculty and students. GTIIT will continue enhancing campus health management systems, building a multidimensional wellness network for community members.
