The 2nd Photo Contest of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, “GTIIT Memories”, is officially launched!

This year marks the 10th anniversary of GTIIT. As the campus celebration approaches, we warmly invite every GTers to share your unforgettable moments with GTIIT.
Any memories connected to GTIIT are welcome. They can be daily interactions between teachers and students, inspiring moments in labs, or unforgettable time in GT sports activities.
There are no restrictions on photo style—every style offers a perfect tribute to GTIIT’s 10th anniversary.

Event Description
With the theme of “GTIIT Memories”, this contest held by GTIIT News and Public Affairs collects photo entries from all GTers. Submissions should contain a topic around GTIIT and are suggested to include any of the following parts:
(1) Campus Environment
(2) Campus Architecture
(3) GTIIT Seasons
(4) Class
(5) Labs
(6) Sports and Club Activities
(7) Artistic Photography or Other Creative Imaging Related to GTIIT

Awards Setting
This competition accepts submissions of single photos, photo series and AI-assisted creations (the same work can’t be submitted to multiple categories), which will be judged separately by category. Winning works will not only receive certificates and prizes but also have chance to be displayed in the campus photography exhibition. The specific awards are as follows:
Single photo and Series photos
First Prize (1 winner per category):
800 RMB
Second Prize (2 winners per category):
400 RMB
Third Prize (3 winners per category):
200 RMB
Excellent Prize (several winners):
a canteen voucher of 40 RMB
AI-Assisted category
Creative Fusion Award (2 winners): 300 RMB

Requirement
Each participant should submit no more than 3 works.
The same images can’t be submitted across different categories. For example, photos already submitted as part of a series can’t be resubmitted for single-image category.Photo series submissions must include 3-6 images per set.Each entry requires a title and a bilingual (Chinese-English) description of approximately 100 words, briefly explaining the creative concept and photographic approach.Works must be original creations by the submitter; using others’ works is strictly prohibited.
Due to the requirements of anonymous judging and public voting, personal watermarks must not be added to images.
There are no restrictions on shooting style, color, or equipment.
For Single Photo and Series Photos: JPG format, resolution no less than 300dpi, file size over 2MB. Participants may only make simple adjustments such as contrast, brightness, saturation, and cropping; technical manipulations like compositing or adding/removing content are not permitted.
For AI-Assisted Creation category: Participants must submit both the original image and the AI-processed comparison image (JPG/PNG format, resolution ≥1920×1080).

GTIIT Photography Exhibition and Awards
Scoring Criteria
Single photo and Series photos categories:Topic Fit (30 points):
The theme of the photo is clear and closely related to the elements of GTIIT, science and technology, and the content is positive.
Technical Level (30 points):
The color of the photo is full, the layers are clear and have strong attraction; the photo is in clear focus, correct exposure, and the details are clear; the overall composition is harmonious, the subject is prominent and is visually beautiful.
Creativity and Expression (35 points):
The photo is novel in topic, innovation in conception, and eye-catching.
Completeness (5 points):
Submitting all required materials (registration form, compliant file format, bilingual work description), etc.
For AI-Assisted Creation Category:
Works should be on-theme, showcase a unique perspective or visual effects, with AI contributing a significant creative element that blends seamlessly with the original image.
Public Voting (10 points):
Works will be open for voting on the official WeChat account. The top 10 most-voted works will receive bonus points. Works are scored sequentially based on vote ranking, the highest-voted work receives 10 points, the second highest one receives 9 points, and so on. The total score after bonus points cannot exceed 100 points.
Notice:
All submitted photos will be used for university official purposes. The organizer reserves the right to use the photos collected in this contest.Ballot stuffing is forbidden in public voting. Participants determined by the organizer (through deliberation and monitoring software data) to engage in ballot stuffing will be disqualified.
The organizer reserves the right to reasonably adjust the number of winners in each award category based on submission volume.
