Recently, the Sixth Student Congress of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) was held in the South Campus. Attending the congress were Prof. Lin Danming, Party Committee Secretary and Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, Ms. Li Min, Secretary of GTIIT Youth League Committee, and other members of GTIIT Youth League Committee. A total of 53 student representatives participated in the congress, fulfilling their solemn duties of deliberation and election in accordance with the Student Union constitution.

All representatives carefully reviewed and unanimously approved the work report of the Seventh GTIIT Student Union. They then voted to elect the committee members and presidium members of the Eighth Student Union.

Prof. Lin Danming encouraged the students to deeply grasp the mission and responsibilities entrusted to youth in the new era. He urged them to anchor themselves in their academic foundation, uphold their original intention of service, cultivate a pragmatic work style, and nurture a pure character. He particularly emphasized that student leaders must always remember that their primary identity is "student," resolutely avoid formalism, and make service the warmest essence and most distinctive hallmark of the Student Union.

Ms. Li Min offered her advice to the new Student Union: forge a loyal character, hone solid skills and be promoters of campus co-governance. Quoting the university motto "Dream it. Do it.", she encouraged everyone to write about the GTIIT youth's responsibility and brilliant chapters in the journey of building a strong nation.

At the congress, Guo Hongqiong, a member of the Seventh GTIIT Student Union Presidium, delivered the work report. Over the past year, the GTIIT Student Union achieved solid growth from "rebuilding" to "reshaping": they set up a dedicated team activity space, providing a warm creative base for late-night planning; meticulously designed union uniforms and work badges to enhance members' sense of belonging; successfully organized events like the GT Night and the Campus Top Ten Singers Competition. They also pioneered new initiatives such as the "Fun Start Station" freshman ice-breaking event and the "Year-End Heart-to-Heart" letter-writing activity, pushing campus cultural construction to new heights.

Following fair and just competitive elections, Xiao Xinyu, Zhang Runze, and Tu Feitong were elected as members of the new Student Union Committee. Yang Zitong, Guo Hongqiong, and Pan Ziming formed the Eighth GTIIT Student Union Presidium. The three Presidium members unanimously expressed their commitment to solidly serving student needs and working together to create a better campus.

This Student Congress concluded successfully. The new Student Union will carry forward the voters's expectations, work together and contribute themselves to GTIIT with passion and diligence.
