China-Israel Investment Conference 2018 was held in Foshan this morning. Memorandum of Understanding among Foshan Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and Shantou University was signed as a symbol of prospects for close cooperation.

About 50 Israeli innovative programs and enterprises took part in the event, who had an in-depth discussion with around 1000 Chinese representatives from venture capital, private equity and some industry leading enterprises. Zvi Hefetz, Ambassador of Israel to China, Edouard Cukierman, Managing Partner of Catalyst CEL, Haggai Ravid, CEO of Cukierman & Co. Investment House, and some other honorable guests delivered their speeches and attended panel discussions. Chinese investors had one-to-one interactions with leaders of invited Israeli innovative programs.

On behalf of GTIIT and STU respectively, Eliezer Shalev, Executive Pro-Vice Chancellor of Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, and Gu Peihua, Provost of Shantou University, signed the Memorandum with Foshan Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone. Regional cooperation will be undertaken to facilitate cutting-edge industrial research, translation of research results and talent cultivation.

China has become one of the most important technology partner of Israel and GTIIT will further engage in the innovation development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, promoting greater and strategical cooperation with the Guangdong government, said Prof. Shalev at the event. He also wishes that through the event, cooperation between GTIIT and Guangdong government can be further strengthened, and meanwhile, this newly established platform in Foshan will contribute to research and innovation, which ultimately benefits to all parties.

Yigal Cohen, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT, and Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs of GTIIT, also joined the event.
