Peer Mentor Program

The Peer Mentor (PM) Program is a well-established initiative at GTIIT designed to help freshmen transition smoothly from high school to university life through the guidance and support of outstanding senior students.

Peer mentors are carefully selected for their experience, strong sense of responsibility, and campus involvement. During the Preparatory Semester, they lead small groups of freshmen, sharing practical advice on campus life, academic adaptation, and how to make the most of university resources, while also providing support for both academic and personal challenges.

In addition, several "Honorary Peer Mentors"—who stood out in previous years for their exceptional performance and received high praise from past freshmen—will mentor the new cohort of peer mentors, sharing their experiences and best practices to help them succeed in their roles.

The program not only helps freshmen settle into university life more quickly but also offers peer mentors valuable opportunities to develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Through the collaborative efforts of the Student Affairs staff and peer mentors, the program fosters cross-year interaction, strengthens students' sense of belonging, and contributes to building a warmer, more inclusive, and vibrant campus culture at GTIIT.
