With the whistle coming from far, the little boy had grown up and put on a suit. He picked up his briefcase and took the train to the big city with tall buildings... This is the scene of the puppet show "When All Was Green" recently staged in GTIIT. You may have a hard time imagining the trans, the big trees, the skyscrapers and other things in the play were all made from old books without introduction by Dikla Katz and Avi Zlicha.
Mr. Yigal Cohen, Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT was invited to the show. Representatives of teachers and students from Shantou Jinshan High School and Chaoyang Experimental High School were also invited to walk into the wonderland of the fairy tale.

This puppet show, which has won nine international children's drama awards, is adapted from the famous picture book "The Giving Tree". It tells a story of a boy and a tree in silent form and has taken two years for Dikla Katz and Avi Zlicha to creat it. They eventually succeeded in using more than 100 used books to build almost all the stage sets and props after countless attempts. With the development of the plot, the audience laughed, marveled and contemplated. Until the end of the performance, everyone is still immersed in the world of puppets, and can't recover for a long time.
Later, Dikla Katz and Avi Zlicha shared their original intention of creating the puppet show. They want to discuss something like humanity, nature, love and desire. "Humans need to learn to control their desires instead of requesting everything, otherwise they will lose everything like the little puppet in the play."

The audience was surprised by the power and charm of the paper. They were also impressed deeply by the artists' skills in making puppets. In the interactive session, they discussed on the topic of giving and receiving, and asked questions about the production process.

After the show, many students gathered at the stage to observe the details of puppet props and discussed with artists about the journey of creating this drama. A student comes from Shantou Jinshan High School said: "The show is wonderful! I never thought that recycled books could do so much. The topic about giving and taking in the play is worth thinking about."
