Dear GTIIT, Happy birthday!
The past years have witnessed your birth and development!
Sept. 29, 2013, LKSF donated 130 million USD as a catalyst for encouraging Technion to establish GTIIT in Shantou. Guangdong and Shantou governments committed a funding of 900 million RMB in support of GTIIT's initial operations.
Apr. 9, 2015, Minister of Education approved the preparation of GTIIT's establishment
Dec. 16, 2015, GTIIT's Corner Stone Laying Ceremony
Dec. 5, 2016, Minister of Education approved the formal establishment of GTIIT.
Aug. 13, 2017, The arrival of the first cohort of GTIIT students
Dec. 18, 2017, GTIIT launched the Inauguration Ceremony

479 students from 17 provinces of China chose you among more than 2914 universities.
The farthest student comes from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, which is more than 3600 kilometers away from GTIIT;
Xiao Yuting, a freshmen from Materials Engineering, is the youngest student at GTIIT. She will celebrate her 18th birthday 305 days later;

Sometimes, the students escape from the class and play game till midnight. But most of the time, they fight for their dreams.
They participate in the Lian River Cooperative Rehabilitation scientific research project;
They develop business plans for multinational companies with over 5,000 students from 110 universities in over 40 countries in x culture project;
They orginaze plogging in order to make a genuine difference for the world;
They teach English course for local primary school students every weekend;
......
More than 40 academics from Israel, United States, Australia, Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Denmark, India, Canada, Spain, etc. left their hometown and chose to stay with you.
They focus on scientific research in order to change the world;
They encourage student s to ask questions and answer them patiently;
They inspire students to pursue their dreams;

Dear GTIIT, congratulations again!
It is really amazing to be listed in the "Guangdong High Level University Development Program" after several rounds of strict selection by academic committees. Four disciplines, including Materials Science and Engineering, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Environmental Engineering are listed as key disciplines.
Dear GTIIT, in the coming years, GTIITers will witness the start-up development of a world-class research university of science and engineering. We sincerely invite you to join us as we embark on this wonderful journey!
Last but not the least, happy birthday to Liu Bohou, a sophomore from Chemical Engineering. He shares the same birthday with GTIIT!
