Mr. Aviram Moreno, Visiting Tutor
Mr. Aviram Moreno is nicknamed "The Wolverine" by students because he always likes to put different colors of whiteboard pens between his fingers, which makes him look like a fictional character Wolverine, to save some time from switching pens during the class. "It's really an enjoyable experience to attend Mr. Aviram's class. With legible blackboard writing, he could explain concepts in a simple way and point out the difficult and error-prone point of the subject," said Yao Zhixiang, a student of Materials Engineering. When a student asked a question, he always listens and responses carefully. However, he won't tell he/she the answer directly but give them place to think. If students still cannot figure out the problem, he will explain patiently until they really know. This may be the reason why even shy students like to ask him questions.
Dr. Huang Kai, Assistant Professor
Assistant Professor Huang Kai, who graduated from University of Toronto, learned from Noble Prize winner, worked in Max Planck Institute in German and has got the National Natural Science Foundation, is in fact very easy-going in classes. Students have fun learning from him in Physical Chemistry classes. He is all affability and condescension, and answer questions raised by students patiently. After class, Prof. Huang often asks students whether they can understand the content and what they want to know further. During the final exam, he even increases office hours to help students in need. He Hanglin, a student from Materials Engineering said the effort Prof. Huang put into his teaching really impressed him.
Dr. Rina Arad Yellin, Senior Chemistry Lab Manager
Dr. Rina Arad Yellin is currently the Senior Chemistry Lab Manager at GTIIT. During the experiments, she always encourages students to think deeply and understand the meaning of each step after observation and recording. Dr. Rina is a professor in lab and tutor in life. "Girls, I hope you can combine your academic studies and career with love life, marriage and motherhood!" Yuan Yue, a student of Chemical Engineering said when talking about future life and career, Dr. Rina strongly encourages girls to pursue their academic dreams. "Don't let the social prejudice against women influence your future study."
Dr. Tzipora Rakedzon, Tutor
The English immersion teaching adopted at GTIIT is a big challenge for many students. "When I just started my college life, I was not confident of my spoken English," said Wu Xin, a student of Materials Engineering. Fortunately, she met Dr. Tzipora Rakedzon in the preparatory courses, who was patient with students and never interrupt them. This encouraged her to talk in English and communicate with teachers. During the group discussion, Dr. Tzipora is not only a good listener and director, giving scope to the students' initiative and creativeness, but also a friend sharing her experiences. Because of her careful listening and professional guidance, more and more GTIIT students fall in love with English.
