Position Description  

A Lab manager and 2-3 Research Assistant positions are available for immediate application in Mechanical Engineering at Experimental Fluid Dynamics group, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT). The group involves a wide range of research topics, including general multiphase flow science, droplet fragmentation, particle-turbulence interaction, oily marine aerosols, fluidized bed reactors, etc. The research is highly interdisciplinary, engineers or researchers with solid background in mechanical, civil, environmental, optical, electrical and computer engineering, physics, mathematics, or related field are welcome to apply. The new and beautiful GTIIT campus is conveniently located in Shantou, Guangdong, only <200 miles away from top cities in China such as Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong and is only around half hour drive to major airport and railway station. The position also offers generous salary plus health insurance coverage and dorm stipend.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintenance of lab environment and equipment

• Design, prepare and conduct experiments either independently or in collaboration with other lab members

• Establish detailed technical summary of experimental results including comparison to literature results either independently or in collaboration with other members

• Other duties assigned by the faculty

Required Job Specifications   

• Required qualification / academic degree: Master or higher; engineers with more than 10 years of related experimental R&D experience does not need to comply with degree requirement.

• Required experience: A solid hands-on experience in mechanical-electrical design and building experimental apparatuses.

• Experience with fluids experiment and associated techniques such as 2D PIV, Stereo PIV, Tomo PIV, DIH, DIHM, SLPIV, high-speed imaging is a plus.

Required Job Competencies   

• Language ability: Fluency in English

• Software package: Solidworks/MATLAB or python/LabVIEW
