Position Description                                                                      

Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Mental Health Counsellor within the Department of Student Affairs. The incumbent will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health support to students on campus.

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                  

·         Independently manage routine student counselling cases and facilitate various themed psychological groups to address the diverse mental health difficulties faced by students.

·         Deliver lectures on psychological general education courses.

·         Conduct education and awareness campaigns on mental health topics, including organizing seminars, utilizing various forms of new media, and maintaining the psycho-education website.

·         Train and manage the team of student mental health mentors and provide guidance to the Students’ Psychological Club.

·         Other administrative tasks assigned by the manager and/or the department head.
    

Required Job Specifications                                                                

·       Enthusiasm for a career in education, with a disciplined and law-abiding nature, good physical and mental health, and strong personal integrity.

·        Passion for mental health education, with excellent overall abilities, a strong work ethic, a calling to serve youth growth, and exceptional communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

·        Proficient in professional knowledge and methods of mental health counselling and education and crisis intervention, with a strong ability to plan and organize mental health activities. Prior teaching experience in university psychological general courses is preferred.

·        Holds a master's or doctoral degree in psychology or closely related subjects from internationally recognized universities. Candidates with 2 or more years of relevant work experience demonstrating strong capabilities are preferred.

·         Fluent in both English and Chinese, with excellent language and communication skills. Proficient in various office software and possesses strong administrative skills.

·        Candidates with qualifications of Higher Education Teacher Qualification Certificate, Registered Assistant Psychologists or Registered Psychologists of the Chinese Psychological Society, and/or prior work experience in mental health hospitals, mental health educational institutions, or psychological counseling organisations, are preferred.

·        Strong sense of responsibility and initiative with professional and academic ethics.

·         Ability to handle mental health related emergency cases.
