Job Description

The Materials Science and Engineering Program within GTIIT is looking for a motivated Laboratory Manager/Technician to establish and support the research and training activities in the materials under extreme conditions research lab. The lab employees a suite of techniques, including vibrational spectroscopy, micromanipulators, gas loading and laser drilling.

Job responsibilities

1. Inquiry, order, receive, install and adjust equipment, software and parts.

2. Write and maintain standard operation procedures and organize laboratory supplies.

3. Support the team in the design, construction, development, testing, operation, and inspection.

4. Communicate with collaborators inside and outside GTIIT. 

5. Provide training to users for equipment, operation, and data analysis.

6. Assist the project leader to complete other tasks, such as drawing and project application.

7. Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks.

Required Job Specifications                                        

1. Academic degree: BSc or higher degrees in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or related field (essential)

2. >2-years hands-on experience with lasers, high-pressure gas systems and relevant techniques. (desirable)

3. Advanced computing skills (scientific software, Python desirable)

4. Excellence in safety aspects and quality (essential)

5. Good communication skills, good command of English and Chinese (essential)

6. Ability of solving technical problems and self-learning (essential)

7. Work in a team and give support (essential)
