Position Description: 

The candidate will join the group of Prof. Vikrant Gupta (https://www.gtiit.edu.cn/en/viewStaff.aspx?staffNo=1290). This position is for candidates with master's or PhD degree in Engineering or Computer Science. Experience in developing high-performance computing platforms, GPU parallel codes and machine learning are required. Skills in computational fluid dynamics, turbulence and data assimilation are desirable but not necessary.

Our group works on analysis and modelling of turbulent flows with applications in clean energy generation. We use tools ranging from classical reduced-order models to data-driven methods for obtaining fast and accurate results in real-time for challenging large-scale engineering problems. Towards that aim, the group is developing numerical tools that can be implemented on parallel GPU cores capable of integrating the in-situ measurements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Purchasing and building the research facilities

·       Implement GPU parallelization of CFD and data assimilation codes

·       Conduct high-impact research on effect of computer hardware on performance of such codes

·       Integrate machine learning API with fortran codes for machine learning assisted data assimilation.

·       Assist in student supervision, administrative tasks and teaching.

Required Job Specifications:

·       Required qualification / academic degree: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science or engineering

·       Required experience: Any experience in administration and research will be counted favourably

Required Job Competencies:     

·     Required qualification / academic degree: A master's or PhD degree in engineering or computer science

·    Required experience: High-performance computing, GPU computing, big data

·    Desirable experience: CFD, turbulence, data assimilation (desirable but not necessary)
