Dr. Jianping Li is a tenure-track Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Guangdong Technion–Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT). He received his B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from Dalian University of Technology and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University. After earning his Ph.D., he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Argonne National Laboratory. He held a visiting postdoctoral position at Princeton University, a joint appointment at the University of Chicago, and a visiting scientist position at Hangzhou Gongshu Gongda Institute of Future Technology. Prior to joining GTIIT, he was a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Tulsa.
Dr. Li's research focuses on process systems engineering. His research develops methodologies integrating mathematical optimization, machine learning, molecular simulation, and techno-economic analysis for process intensification, integrated product and process design, biomass and plastic waste valorization, and sustainable energy system optimization. He has published 20 journal articles and 8 international conference papers. His research has been published in journals including AIChE J., Chem. Eng. Sci., ACS Sustainable Chem. Eng., Ind. Eng. Chem. Res., and Nat. Energy. He serves as a reviewer for AIChE J., Chem. Eng. Sci., Comput. Chem. Eng., and other international journals.
