Dr. Yan Wang is currently a tenured Associate Professor, independent Principal Investigator, and Ph.D. supervisor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Guangdong Technion–Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), the China campus of the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology. She joined GTIIT in November 2021. She received her Ph.D. from Monash University, Australia, in 2018 and completed her postdoctoral research in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 2021. She has long been engaged in research on flexible and wearable electronics and has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles, including more than 40 as first or corresponding author in leading journals such as Science Advances (three papers), Nature Communications, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Chemical Society Reviews, and Advanced Materials. She has an h-index of 41, six ESI Highly Cited Papers, and multiple patents filed in Australia, Japan, the United States, and China. She was named among the Stanford University/Elsevier World’s Top 2% Scientists from 2021 to 2025 and selected for the Guangdong Province Major Talent Program for Young Scholars in 2025. Her honors include the ACS Publications Award for Women Scientists in Surface and Interface Science (2025), recognition as a Journal of Materials Chemistry C Emerging Investigator (2025) and a Nanoscale Emerging Investigator (2023), and the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad (2018; approximately 500 recipients worldwide annually). She also serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Small. Her research achievements have received international media coverage from CNN, Science, Australia’s Herald Sun, and Japan’s Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun. Her research interests include electronic skins, hydrogel bioelectronics, brain–computer interfaces, and flexible diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.
