Marco Farinati joined the Department of Mathematics at GTIIT as a Visiting Professor in October 2023. He is a Professor at the Mathematics Department, Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires (Argentina) and a Researcher at CONICET. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1999 in the field of Homological Algebra.
He has supervised two Ph.D. thesis and is currently supervising a graduate student, a Ph.D. student and a posdoc.
Dr. Farinati has authored/co-authored over 30 journal papers and three undergraduate teaching textbooks in Spanish on the topics of "Rings and Modules", "Lie Groups, Lie Algebras and their Representations", and "Homological Algebra".
His research interests lie in the application of Homological Algebra tools in various areas, including non-commutative geometry, Yang-Baxter equation and its relation to Hopf Algebras, Braided Categories, and Invariants of Links and Knots.
