Xiaowu received his PhD degree in Environmental Engineering from Kumamoto University (2016) and was working at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG) as a visiting scholar during his Ph.D. (Jan. 2015 to Sept. 2015). He completed his postdoctoral training at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2016-2018) and The University of Hong Kong (2019-2021). Xiaowu joined GTIIT as an associate professor in the summer of 2021. His group at GTIIT mainly focuses on anammox, biological wastewater treatment, and biowaste recycling. Researchers who have interests in these relevant research themes are more than welcome to join his team.
