Prof. Guillermo Morales-Luna is a visiting professor at the Mathematics with Computer Science Faculty. He received the BSc degree in mathematics from the Mexican National Polytechnic Institute, the MSc degree in mathematics from Mexican CINVESTAV-IPN, and the PhD degree from the Mathematics Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is a Mexican national and he also holds Polish citizenship.

He has been a full-time researcher at the Computer Science Department of the Research and Advanced Studies Center of Mexican National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV-IPN) in Mexico City. He has been visiting researcher at the Mexican National Polytechnic Institute, Autonomous University of Puebla in Mexico and the Mexican Institute of Petroleum.

His research interest include mathematical foundations of computer science, cryptography, complexity theory, and mathematical logic.

He has authored around 50 research articles related to Theoretical Computer Science, Logic and Cryptography, published in top journals, several chapters in books published by specialized editorials, one book in the series Synthesis Lectures on Quantum Computing by Springer, and books published by the Sociedad Matemática Mexicana and Mexican National Polytechnic Institute as well as around 50 articles in scientific congresses and symposia. He has conducted ten PhD thesis, and around 30 MSC thesis in Computer Science and Mathematics.
